1990

• Mugendo Kickboxing at Sensei Joe Johal’s club. Mugendo (The unlimited way) was a tough wake up call to full contact fighting.  Sensei Joe’s students benefited from Joe’s experience as a competitor, former doorman and bodyguard.  Sensei Joe was also former president of WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing).  Stayed at the club for 1 and a half years. During this time having also met and been given tips by Pro Boxing competitors. Started use of Nunchuka’s and Tonfa Japanese Weapons.

1993 

• Started training in Wing Chun Kung Fu under the United Kingdom Wing Chun Kung Fu Association.  Mainly studying with Sifu Dean Salmon-king and Sifu Mark Phillips.  Staying at the club for 2 years passing preliminary exams and attended seminars including usage of Kubotan.

 

1995

• Whilst studying Wing Chun; started training for the Territorial Army Reserves (TA). Was officially sworn in April 1996 and Trained with 289 Royal Artillery and Commando Battery and trained in many aspects of soldiering for 3 years until leaving to pursue full time education.

 

1998

• Commenced in Muay Thai with Mega Gym under Kru Jimmy Mills.  Training there for 2 years; was given a good foundation in Muay Thai.

2000  

• Trained with Kru David Verdi of Elephants Gym Muay Thai. Kru David had studied and fought in Thailand and Europe.  Studied Muay Thai with Kru David Verdi for 5 years in a very Thailand orientated style of Muay Thai. During training in Muay Thai had a chance to meet and train with champions such as Winston Fraser (British and European Muay Thai Champion) at Snipers Gym and Diablo’s Gym, Floyd Brown (British, European and World Champion in Muay Thai as well as World kickboxing champion and no holds barred Freestyle fighting World champion).

2000

• Training at the former Champions Gym Boxing Club meeting and training alongside unlicensed Boxing competitors as well as meeting and training with Kick Boxers and Security Door Men. Also training at the famous  Peacocks Boxing Gym (founded 1978) where a number of World Class, World Champion Boxers have stopped off to train

2000

• Started Japanese Jiu Jitsu, with Sensei Steve Blackett 7th Dan part of the Connelly Jiu Jitsu Federation under Soke Derek Connelly 10th Dan. Trained in the style for around 5 years gaining a Purple belt.

2002

• First taste of Brazilian Jiu jitsu with Mauricio Gomes 7th Degree (Black belt under the late Rolls Gracie, Mauricio is also father to multiple world champion Roger Gracie). Attending seminars hosted by champions such as Joao ‘Sal’ Rangal and Marcio Feitosa (Head Instructor of Gracie Barra, California) who did a seminar at the well known London Budokwai (oldest Japanese Martial Arts Club in Europe founded in 1918).

• Training and being mentored at Wag Bennett’s Gym ‘Muscle Mansion’ by the late Wag Bennett friend and trainer to Arnold Swarztnegger. Being taught by Wag on Body Building and Strength Training respectively.

2003

• Travelled to Toronto, Canada and trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Omar Salvosa 3rd Degree Black Belt, thereafter had travelled a further few times to Toronto training with Instructor Omar and also having met and trained with Omar’s teacher Master Marcus Soares 8th Degree Black Belt under Carlson Gracie

2003

• Training in Free Style Wrestling/Submission Wrestling under Coach Amir Eslami. Also visited Tokei Olympic Wrestling Club, London. Meeting Coach Dougie Thompson and also having met and sparred with John ‘The Grip’.

2004

• Met and trained with Muay Thai’s Grandmaster Sken Kaewpadung.  Travelling to Stockport England doing private lessons with Grandmaster Sken who gave recognition of level of Kru, to which there was a certificate received.

​

2004 till 2005

• Taught Fitness and Martial Arts as a Personal trainer at the Executive branch of World Gym Barbados, West Indies & was also connected with the Red Scorpion Kenpo Karate School.

2007

• Started training Eskrima under Master Joe Agoncillo (Winner of Champions of Champions 2011, British Champion, British knife fighting champion, 5th Degree Black Belt under SGM Danny Guba 12th Degree). Learnt a varied range of skills in Eskrima and participated in many competitions under the guidance of Master Joe Agoncillo and SGM Danny Guba

• Competed at the Northampton Invitational Stick Fighting Competition

2008

• Competed at the British Stick Fighting Championships

• Training at the TKO Boxing Gym

 

2009

• Competed at the Guba Doce Pares Quest For The Best Open Championships

• 2009- Selected for the WEKAF British Stick Fighting Team to compete in the European Championships in Bristol, UK.

 

2010

• Competed at the Seni Martial Arts Show

2011

• After a few years of training, received a Blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Instructor Walid Tadjouri 2nd Dan Black Belt, formerly of Carlson Gracie Team London UK; now Instructor and head coach of S21 Submission School, UK.

2012

• Competed at the Seni Martial Arts Show
